Not the Worst Jobs of 2016

I’ve read a recent article called “The Worst Jobs of 2016” and it talked about how broadcasters, along with other journalistic careers, were ranked at the bottom. I learned that some of the most important jobs aren't appreciated as much as they should be because the public doesn't realize how much it's valued. Reading this shocked me for many reasons. I keep asking myself how they could be ranked so low. Without broadcaster and newspaper reporters, how could anyone find out what’s happening in our world? I don’t think people realize how important those careers are. When one turns on CNN or Fox News or any other news channel, they learn about what’s new in our world, what’s going wrong, and what good things are happening. Without them, we wouldn’t know anything; we would live in the dust.

It might just be me who believes what I’m saying because I’d like to be a broadcaster, but I think those jobs were ranked wrong. If it weren’t for those types of jobs, how would we know what ISIS is doing and what they’ve done? How would we have been informed of the attacks that occurred on 9/11? I’m not saying these are the most important jobs in the world, but I don’t believe they’re last. As technology advances, I believe these jobs do too. There will always be newspapers, TV news, and even online news articles. No matter how this country changes, those jobs will always be there and always be very important to society, even if they don’t realize it. I don’t agree with that article at all. I think they should be ranked way higher than they have been placed. America has forgotten who they rely on for the most recent news and it’s time to change that.
