About Us

In our blog “Public View" we will discuss how the concept of media and technology plays a major role in communicating with the public through our different career fields. We will explore the misconceptions and reality of each field. Our team will go into depth about what our jobs do and how media/technology is used to communicate with the public. This will be presented by giving facts, statistics, pictures, videos, opinions, and new information learned about our topics.

Below you will meet the team who will be running this blog.

My name is Erica Montgomery and I am a second year college student, I am interested in the major of Business-Marketing. I became interested in this specific career field because my parents and grandparents owned their own company. They would allow me help out and be a part of the company by keeping up with files, logging in information, and promoting the company. When doing this I became very interested in business marketing and understanding what steps are needed to help different businesses get their product or services out to the public successfully.

My name is Tony Black and I’m a freshman at MSU studying broadcast journalism. I picked this field because I enjoy writing and I enjoy being in the public's eye. I never wanted a typical “desk job” and I think being able to address current topics for the public to listen to and react to interests me a lot. I've had an internship on the CBS This Morning show and it made me even more excited to get into this field. I think I could make the news a big influence on our society and change how we all view it.

My name is McKenna Marchant and I am majoring in Communications with a focus on Media and Information. I chose to major in communications because my ideal job is to work in the music industry. Since I can’t play instruments well and still want to be involved in the industry I thought that working on the business side of the industry would be best for me.

My name is Justin Woods and I am currently a freshman at MSU studying Media and Information. I am a freelance photographer and videographer in a class of my own. I believe my purpose in life is to direct the creative process of controversial visual content from all angles of the world in order to change how we connect with each other as the human race.

My name is Justin Frommer and I am a freshman at Michigan State University. I currently am a journalism major in hopes of becoming a play-by-play broadcaster on the radio for sports teams. I have a lot of experience in the field already with all of the work that I did in high school to get a step ahead of all of the other incoming freshman before I even stepped on campus. I announced all of my school’s sporting events as well as doing play by play on the radio for varsity football games. That is where I fell in love with the profession.
