Media influences our everyday lives. What we see on television encourages us to act certain ways and purchase certain products. Media even allows us to spread awareness about certain ordeals. For instance, the movie Concussion starring Will smith. In Pittsburgh, accomplished pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu uncovers the truth about brain damage in football players who suffer repeated concussions in the course of normal play. An article called "Muscle and Medicine" reports an article stating this, "What are the long-term health risks of the most popular sport in the United States? The movie, recounting real-life events with some creative license, shows Omalu being stonewalled by the NFL as he tries to ring the alarm on the effects of repeated head trauma on players’ health. His character is warned in one scene, “You’re going to war with a corporation that owns a day of the week.” This article suggests to me that people are starting to notice more that something had to be done. This could lead to the fall of a corporation.
