They have to be able to handle pressure, it states. This is very important because you must be able to deal with a big problem that arises. For example, the broadcasters during 9/11 had to hold themselves sane in order to keep American sane. They must also be able to get things done on time in order to be shown to the public at the right time.
Communication is most important for sure. They have to be able to speak clear for everyone to understand. If we can't understand what the broadcaster is saying, it's a waste of news.
Good personalities are a necessity in this type of job. They must be a like-able person in order to create a bond with the viewer. They must be happy and professional at the same time. They have to make the viewers want to come back.
The list in the article goes on and on. They pretty much must contain all, or most, of these in order to be good in this field. Everything the workers who put together the show do it played through them and if they can't deliver well to the audience, the viewers will not come back. Personality in this job, in fact any job, is key to being good and professional. Broadcasters have a very important job and their personality is a major factor in how they perform.

I have always noticed these characteristics in the news broadcasters that I have seen but I never paid attention to it. This does a good job with explaining how well rounded these broadcasters are or have to be.
