As the calendar turns to the month of October, we are getting closer and closer to election day. During this month there will be debates shown on national television as well as political analysis shown as well.
Fox and CNN are two stations that are known to have biased news and biased analysis towards a certain side of the political sphere. Fox is known to be a more conservative station while CNN is known to be a more liberal station for viewers.
But what about the rest of news stations. According to The Washington Post, Valerie Richardson wrote in her article titled, conservatives called out liberal biased media outlets thinly disguised as non profit journalism, says that the problem with these non profit journalism outlets are "those nonprofit sites act less as objective purveyors of news than as disseminators of liberal propaganda, funded by foundations with a left-of-center agenda, especially on environmental issues".
Other people look at the rise of this non profit journalism is a different way of looking at politics rather than being biased.
But who decides what goes on TV? those belong to the people that are known as gatekeepers. Gatekeepers run these TV stations and decide what they deem is newsworthy and let it on television or deem it non newsworthy and don't let it cross the gate of going on to TV.
So is really the TV stations that are biased or the gatekeepers?
