Broadcast TV is Still Important

Whether we know it or not, broadcasted television still plays a major role in our lives. Over the years, as technology has changed, it has been the only thing that has remained the same. Its always up-to-date, reliable, and has been a place to turn to when we need new information about what's going on in our world.

This media blog makes some strong and valid points. It states that local TV is trustworthy. This idea is very true because, as I stated before, it's the only thing that's stayed the same. With all the new technology, broadcast TV is and will always be there. Those who have watched that station for years will trust it very much because of the bond they have developed.

It also talks about how it is live and local. The importance of proximity in news is most important. If you live in Detroit, you don't care what happens in Orlando. We want to hear about things that are close and important to us that actually mean something. Local news stations do exactly that.

I think it's also the easiest way to receive news. You can turn on the news and hear everything that's going on in the day in 5 minutes or you could read a whole entire newspaper for the same information. It saves so much time and is more engaging.  We can connect with the news and the friendly attitudes the anchors give off; you can't get that within a newspaper.

Overall, times are changing and we are advancing, but broadcast television is here to stay. Local news is the best way for humans to receive the newest information that our city and our country faces. It always will be there for us in a click of a button.

  1. I agree with what you are saying, the news seems to be the most effective way to receive information. I think is partly because the news tries to stay up to date with all of their information. Do you think that what we watch effects how we think? because I know people who do not watch the news because they think it only shows the bad things going on in the world.

    1. I think what we watch does effect how we think because it influences how we should feel. The news isn't all bad but it wouldn't be as interesting if it was all puppies and rainbows.
